re: Whatever happened to the Occupy Wall Street movement?

They didn't have a coherent argument so it fell apart. They had some legitimate grievances about the economy that got lost in the whining about student loans, drone warfare, etc. I went by their encampment in DC and there was no central message or authority. In addition, they were eventually legislated out of existence when municipalities passed regulations banning their presence in parks.

Well, Patton and the US Army had something to do with that.

from what I saw, they had no real agenda or suggested solutions to anything...only a bunch of half coherent complaints like "the economy is bad," etc...once public sentiment turned against them, the local governments just cleaned all of their fricking messes up and they went home...

You have a point...one of the Obama Initiatives, like "The war on Women" and Travon Martin, which somehow translated to Repubs are racist...

I did not care about it. I meant it in terms of the Internet and nightly news programs.

Basically, yes.

There was one guy who was written up in one of the liberal mags who had left his job in NY public schools to get his master's in - get this - puppetry. He was shocked that he couldn't make a living in that field and decided to protest.

No, I'm not kidding.

Winter and school happened locally. They disappeared when it got cold and schoolwork picked up.

They got bored with it and moved on to something else. You gotta renew the drama for them to be interested, it's the Reality Television Generation.

Reinstate Glass-Steagall
No bank should be beyond prosecution for wrongdoing
The fact that incomes for most people have stagnated in the last few decades while those at the very top have grown several fold. The last decade is a good example:

If the Occupy movement had concrete legislative goals, they might have gotten something done.
