I think Jindal is building a broad base for future business ventures with Teeple in the campaign business. Perhaps lobbying. Perhaps writing more book. Perhaps a think tank deal. Perhaps campaign organizing. Lots of money in all of that--look at Palin, Sharpton, Jackson, Lott, Breaux, Carville, Clinton ect.

No, I don't think this time was spent bringing jobs here; this time was spent running for higher office.

How does this compare to liberals?

Obama has spent the past 4 years campaigning. Even after his re-election he has continued to campaign.

I would not be surprised to see a push by the Obama administration to allow for a third term in office. The excuse will still be that ""he needs more time" and "it's Bush's fault".

You're exactly right.

Ya no shit, they don't just want one of their candidates in office, the want the next president to be theirs, and the next.

Exactly. "The ends justify the means" in their mind.

Louisiana taxpayers, however, paid $65,000 to feed, house and, often, fly his security team.

So that's like $0.50 from everyone in Calcasieu parish.

Excuse me while I go cry in my pillow over my lost 2 quarters. Then again, I can probably go look in my couch and get that $0.50 back. Yay me.

Yeah, don't worry about that almost $25 billion dollars he's brought to SW La. alone.

I don't know where Jindal falls as far as governors of Louisiana, but he has done a lot more than most of the other ones. Louisiana has fared pretty well in this recession imo.

I don't ever recall the Advocate running a piece on that.

There are plenty of stories that the Advocate could be running with right now to bring attention to things that need fixing, yet they seem to have little interest in that, just their political affiliations.

I will be glad to give them a book of material that hasn't been covered, but rather ignored.

Yes he has. ...and I'd like someone to find me a politician that everyone will agree with all the time. I've learned there will ALWAYS be someone that's unhappy.

Jindal is the best Gov. that this state has had in 100 years considering all the crooked, corrupt, money grabbing politicians that has been there before.

Seriously, this state has hired guys that's been in mental institutions and LOVED a Governor that was in the Federal Pen for 15 years.

Who's backwards here? My theory is that Jindal is doing things the RIGHT way and people have no idea how to react. Of course there are some under the table dealings, I challenge ANYONE to find politicians that don't take deals. Your neighborhood fricking grocer takes under the table deals. If you were a politician, and you were offered kickbacks, everyone on this board would take some sort of deal that benefited them personally.

Bobby needs to spend his time here. The $65K spent is not the issue. Neither is comparing him to the last 20+ past governors. But then, we really cann't bitch that much, as we elected them all. Several more than once. I am not a fan of John White, as I feel he is in way over his head & will be the prototype carpetbagger down the road & head back east when Bobby finally leaves office & leaves him all by himself. But at least White is out in the streets, meeting his critics face to face with open discussions. Nothing happens, true. But at least he's out there. Bobby is either in his ivory tower working on his press releases or up in Idaho helping a fellow GOP pol, who could care less bout La., get elected.
