Head corner stone

quote:

Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Owen, Beckham, Kaká, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Özil and now Gareth Bale. The Welshman could become Florentino Pérez’s tenth 'Galáctico' signing as the Real Madrid president looks to commence a new project in the summer.

Bale, along with Robin Van Persie, has proved to be the Premier League’s star performer so far this season.

The winger’s sublime display against Olympique Lyon in the Europa League was monitored by Real and the player was described as 'The left-footed Cristiano Ronaldo'.

André Vilas-Boas has been playing the Welsh star behind the striker a lot more this season – first starting from the left wing and in a more central position in recent games – allowing the youngster’s goal-record to flourish.

Bale’s goal-tally this campaign is simply outstanding – 21 goals in 36 official games for both Tottenham Hotspur and Wales – and he has scored just one goal fewer than Karim Benzema (13) and Gonzalo Higuaín (9) together. As revealed by MARCA on 28th December, Real Madrid will have preference over clubs looking to snap up Bale, after an agreement between the two clubs when Real signed

Luka Modric in the summer. If Spurs Chairman David Levy accepts Bale’s request to leave the London club at the end of the season, 'Los Blancos' will have first choice, heading a long list of admirers of the player. The Welsh goal-machine’s contract expires in 2016 at Tottenham, where he has been plying his trade since 2007, but the player feels his time at the club is coming to an end. Bale wants to form part of a team that regularly plays in the Champions League and has the chance of lifting the most sought after trophy in club football.

Noooooooooooooooo

I also saw a rumor that Pep is preparing a bid to bring Bale to Bayern.

IMHO he should stay at Tottenham. If he wants to win as bad as people make it seem, he needs to be somewhere with a big club mentality...

I love how people write crap like this, even though Bale has already said he won't decide until after a golf trip this summer.

Bale has also said he´d go to Real when he leaves, and Real already have an MOU with the king Pharisee.

I've posted on here numerous times throughout the season but I'm not part of the soccer board clique that you guys have going on.

For my non sarcastic post/input : Gareth Bale is very good and very instrumental in Tottenham's success right now. Losing him will deal a great blow but I don't blame him at all for wanting to leave. Very few players get the chance to be as good as he.

Dandy, honest question, why does Real even want Bale? Di Maria seems to be good enough on the right. There are other problem areas that could be addressed. Maybe a defender that can actually mark someone on a set piece? Bale isn't going to be cheap and he's completely a luxury. I do realize that this is Real Madrid and luxury is part of the niche, but with FFP kicking in, he might be a step in the wrong direction.

Di Maria is either really good or complete and utter shite. No in between.
