This will look weird as a live action movie but I will watch and donate $7 when I buy my ticket to see it.

As many jobs as Uncle Ruckus has he should be able to finance it himself.

They don't really explain why the haven't solicited real investors or studios to make the movie. It's just "hey this is a crazy idea, let's put it on Kickstarter"

It's a lot easier to get money if you have money. They raise $200,000 on Kickstarter, and they can demonstrate to investors that there is interest in seeing the movie made. They then get another couple of million from private investors or studios.
