Has anyone tried the new Monday pop-up at Martinique in NOLA?

I think last Monday was the first week, but it sounds good. They just do Italian food from the Houma restaurant Christiano's.

I've never been to the Houma spot, always heard it was good. I was told they are shopping for a new location in NOLA. I was kind of hoping to see a menu online for tonight before I commit.

Martinique Bistro on Magazine. apparently the proprietors of an Italian joint in Houma run a pop-up here in Nola on Monday nights.

I've been to Martinique once like 12 years ago before this guy owned it

I suppose it's not really a pop up in the traditional sense

I'm guessing he's trying to see how the food is received by NOLA residents if he is planning on opening one up in the city

It's a deviation from their typical menu. I believe it's entirely Italian. They have a few pictures of last week's offerings on the Martinique Facebook page. Looks like a few different pasta dishes, a (beef) tartare. It all looks good.

R2R, it's better than mediocre. I agree it's not the same league as Le Petit, but it's a very good meal. The Menu doesn't have the creativity I seek, but it has solid execution. IMHO

No wonder you're all over it. Just go tonight and check it out. Because next Monday you certainly won't.

Maybe I just had a bad experience. I remember the service was rather poor. I'll have to try it again and order something different because their fish of the day didn't wow me.
