HBOComedy played BTF1 thru 3 in succession on Friday Night.

Any other options out there?

Compared to 1 and 3 in both series, I say yes.

I wouldn't call Temple of Doom substandard.
I kinda like all 3 Indy movies equal.

All 3 of them.

ToD was WAY more substandard than BTTF2.

I know A LOT of people who think BTTF2 is the best one. My favorite is the original, but Im surprised at how many people like 2

Mine as well.

1 & 3 had the perfect mix of action/comedy and it flowed seamlessly. TOD tried to force too many things and it didn't mesh well.

Back to the Future 3 was crap compared to the first 2.

I pretty much thought both BttF's after 1 kinda sucked. They should have just stopped with the first one.

As far as Last Crusade, I thought it was right up there with Raiders. TOD was ok, but definitely the worst of the 3.

I don't even acknowlege that other abortion of a movie.

There is nothing at all wrong with TOD. It has just as outrageous moments at ROTLA and TLC. TLC is better than BTTF3 for sure though.

I think Last Crusade - I don't hate Temple of Doom like many fanboys, but out of the 3 movies, it is the weakest.

I thought BTF watches well as 3 parts of the same long story, in a similar vein to LOTR. 2 maybe the weakest, again, of the 3, but I don't think the dip in quality is as noticeable as Temple of Doom among the 3 Indy movies.

BTTF2 was a much harder film to make than ToD. You knew there was a third installment already, so not only did they have to do a complete movie, but they had to make it a transitional one as well. Indy isn't a trilogy like BTTF or Star Wars. It is more like James Bond and just independent movies in a series.

So your question isn't really valid.
