It took Mickelson a lot longer than he would have liked to win a major golf tourney. When he did win his first major, he started to relax and played much better and won a few more majors. He currently is playing lights out golf and his best golf is probably ahead of him. Flaco could never win the BIG one because of dropped balls by his receivers and many unfortunate breaks along the way, and then the Hail Mary against Denver happened and the rest is history. The guy has never made a Pro Bowl but I can guarantee you that he will in the future. His best football is yet to come. He now has the monkey off his back.

Flaccos like 27 or so. Not really a fair comparison. That's pretty young relatively to be winning the damn Super Bowl

It's hard to compare athletes in individual sports to team sports. It's two completely different animals. Andy Murray is a much more accurate comparison to Phil Mickelson.

I understand what you're trying to say, but poor comparison. Phil Mickelson is an all-time great. And his best golf is nowhere near in front of him either.

Phil Mickelson is the second best golfer of his generation. I'm not sure that we will be able to say the same about Joe Flacco.

Mickelson is arguably among the top 10 of all time in his sport.

Flaco is arguably among the top 10 playing his position right now.

But he had a good run the playoffs, no doubt.

Oh how quickly we forget how bad he played last year

ETA: And to say his "best golf" is ahead of him is laughable
