you really have that and turn off other people's/businesses's TVs? You must be very sensitive. I can tune out a TV.

I was in a waiting room a few days ago. TV was on a cooking channel but I don't know which one as I was sitting under it. Next show had something about cooking guinea pigs so the whole room was commenting. I just checked work emails on my phone and never heard another word.

I expect family restaurants and naturally loud restaurants to be pretty loud. I expect Galatoire's to have boisterous diners. I'm fine as long as I can hear the waiter and my fellow diners or at least the person next to me. Large tables are nearly always loud when everyone tries to talk to each other. That's the way it is.

I helped at a dinner party for 14 last night at my parents'. All were in their late 70's and 80's. the bartender told us they all had three rounds during the cocktail time. They went through bottles of wine like crazy. Talk about loud! They were a hoot. I hope I'm still enjoying life that way if I live that long. We're still laughing over that group. Such fun.
