First, this sentence is inaccurate. Second, the day the AD and/or TAF get involved in assistant coach hirings is the day many fans walk away. The AD hires the head coach. That's it.

If you don't think the money men a TAF call the shots, your delusional. I worked at the time the decision was made for one of the TAF board of directors. That is exactly how it went down.

Gary Crowton was the OC that engineered the offense that won the last title. You don't have to like it, it's OK.

2008 and 2011 were good offenses. The only team to slow us down in 2011 was the greatest Bama def of alltime

Not true they were still running most of Jimbo's offense for the 2007 year. The personnel didn't fit Crowton's offense. In fact Crowton said after he left they never ran his offense the whole time he was here.

You realize Bama has gotten incredibly lucky the past two years to even be playing in the NCG? The mulligan will never happen again in college football and should not have happened in the first place.

This year if K-State and Oregon don't lose on the same weekend Bama is sitting home watching just like us.

Not saying they were not good but without a litle help along they way they don't play. Sometimes the breaks fall our way and sometimes they don't.

Also, who cares what outsiders think?

I am honestly having a hard time trying to figure out who should've been in that NCG ahead of us. Backing in is what Bama did by finishing 2nd in the SECW, playing a softer schedule than the BIG12 Champ and haivng the same record.

You do realize how many other 2 loss teams are on your list right? I wouldn't say we backed in but had the most luck I have ever seen. Two losses to unranked teams, played a week Tenn team in the SECG and the west was horrible that year with the next best team was a 7-4 Auburn team.

"How did we ever win a championship without him?"

Well, we had the school's all time best offense the last time we did it. That was a pretty important factor.

So losing at home, not winning your division NOR playing in your championship game isn't backing in?

Every year teams that make it to the NCG have to have things fall their way. Not just an LSU thing.

2008 was a really down year in the SEC. He'll ole miss finished 2nd in the west and only 7 teams were above .500 and 5 of those teams were 7-6. 2008 was far worse than 2007

This is the kind of stuff our fans give Bama a pass on but not even our own teams.

When healthy, that 2007 team was dynamite. When the D got banged up, they gave up a ton of points which led (primarily) to the two triple OT losses, but what 2007 also shows is how a team can win games even when the other team scores 24+ points. Defense is great, but offense is a hell of a thing, too.

OK, if Oregon and Kansas State don't drop the ball in the, "Wait for it", LAST game of the season. Is Alabama playing for the BSCNC?

exactly. in 07, we won the sec championship on the field with a backup QB.

sure other teams lost to get us there but we belonged there. no one helped us win the crystal. we won it on the field.

Like we did in 2007?

Who would you like to see coaching us that would give us such a better chance to win a championship Mr. Football?
