I can't think of worse choke job in recent NFL history, all things considered. Maybe I'm being too dramatic here, but seriously. I was at the LSU/Bama game and this game and it was nearly the same feeling.

I can think of some losses, but the boneheaded coaching and just piss poor execution on routine assignments blew my mind. When a 19 y/o safety in college jumps a route, I find it more excusable. When an NFL secondary gives up a 70 yard bomb with 40 seconds left it's unconscionable.

Not to mention, obviously this was the year. Maybe next year, maybe the one after. Who knows. This was home field, etc. Window is quickly closing, if not shut.

In terms of strictly choking, what in the recent NFL compares?

ETA: I guess i define choking as failing to close, and giving the game away.

I'm sure I'll get 15 replies from their whiny fans, but Falcons two years ago was way worse.

Homefield advantage and they got completely stomped. They were never even in the game.

I feel Denver was worse. Williams fumbled sure, but the Niners was not just sitting on a lead. One guy made a mistake at a critical, not a complete institutional breakdown.

IDK, all relative.

The Falcons had one of the biggest collapses Ive ever seen yesterday, but somehow found a way to pull it off

The Broncos had a punt and kick return. If not for that, you wouldn't even have been in the game

Just goes too show that Peyton made them look MUCH MUCH better than they really were during the regular season.

It was terrible, that was one of the worse played deep balls by a safety i have ever seen. I have no problem saying i would have played it better.

We finished the regular season with an 11 game winning streak. One of those Ws came against a team with a winning record at the time, Baltimore.

Did the Broncos go into the game overconfident yesterday? After all, Vegas had them as a 9 point favorite.

Bottom line, we got outplayed and outcoached yesterday.

Big-picture I guess the Falcons choked, but I just consider it that when you were never in the game. I guess I'm defining choking as failing to close and giving the game away.

It is a good point. It makes it easier to swallow if you consider that if not for fluke plays, they never would have been in the game.

Yes. I'm just not over it. I got emotionally invested after the Baltimore game.

If not for missed calls baltimore wouldn't have either. The missed P.I. for a td return by Baltimore.

Denver was without a doubt the better team and still is. Ravens were able to escape with a win though. Play it 10 times Ravens win maybe twice, unfortunately Saturday was one of those times.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the meeting between Elway & Fox this morning. I haven't seen or read any interviews from John post game, but I imagine he was and still is livid.

So if Holiday doesn't run the kicks back, the Broncos are assured of going 3 and out? That's two less offensive possessions the Broncos had because of the kick returns. The definitely couldn't do better than 2 touchdowns, but whose to say that they wouldn't have put some points on the board.

Packers losing to the Eagles in 04 was a huge choke job. GB was outscored 20-3 in the second half/OT and gave up a 4th and 26 that led to a tying FG.

Houston Oilers 35 - Buffalo Bills - 3. Third quarter January 3rd, 1993. Final was Oilers 38 - Bills 41. Doesn't get much worse. Was only 9 years old. Heartbreak.

Big Picture- Broncos not even in the game without Trindon

Frankly the Broncos over-reached who they are this season. PM has been there less than a year. The reg season you had was fantastic for all the changes etc....

This is what you take out of it- Yes sucks short term but again, Broncos are in the first year of the Manning transition, prob have 2-3 more seasons to A. get more talent around PM, B. Shore up the DB's C. grow as a team to win it all

That made me cringe when it happened and I'm not a Broncos fan.
