Safeties are equal if not better than SEA, corners are less talented.

SF and the Smith brothers provide a far superior pass rush and they generally don't need to send extra defenders on the blitz thus freeing up more defenders to play coverage.

17 points allowed on the GB offense in non-garbage time isn't too bad.

Dashon Goldson and Carlos Rodgers are very good. Tarell Brown and Donte Whitner leave more to de desired. SF's front seven makes life easy for these guys.

They're not as good, but the Niner defense is much better at getting to the QB than Seattle's. Seattle had only generated something like 10 total sacks in their last 8 games, and that was when they still had Clemons.

TE being a toss up. Davis could go off or put up a goose egg. At least you know what you're getting from Gonzo.

Good try though.

davis is likely helped b/c Atl can't seem to cover the TE at all based on yesterday.

Gonzales > Davis. Don't get that confused. He's the reason Atlanta won Sunday. He was exceptional.

The only chance Atlanta has of winning is to hit big plays on the outside. San Fran's CBs aren't elite, but they're insulated by an elite front 7 and good safety play. White and Julio have to be monsters for Atlanta to win.

Over the season, yeah. But for one game, I would say it's pretty even. Davis is just so inconsistent but we he does get going he does very, very well.

Makes you wonder what he could do to the Falcons seeing how Zach Miller went for 8-142-1 TD yesterday.

49ers have the best safeties in the league

Meh, a lot of that was in catch up. Not to take anything from the guy. I don't see SF playing catch up. I didn't see Seattle either. Davis has played teams that couldn't cover the TE before and laid an egg.

I think Aldon is a tad overrated and Justin is immensely underrated.

They're plenty good enough but bolstered by an elite pass rush. I see Plenty of dump offs in this game to Rodgers and Tony.

oh, gotcha. I really didn't watch much of the game yesterday but I caught the last few minutes.

as beastly as Davis was against the Saints last year in the playoffs, he didn't do anything when they played the Saints this year. All depends on the game plan I guess. They probably knew they could run the ball on the Saints so why bother throwing a lot with a young QB making his first start on the road?

As far as the 49ers DB's go, I think they are the most physical group in the league (the safeties anyway) those guys don't miss many tackles.

Honest answer? Because they don't play in the NFC South.
