I can't stand for my pants to ride up high on a pair of boots. If they don't go down far enough I'm cutting em. I'm 3rd generation don't give a frick what people think.

As a guy who has been living in TX for the last 6 years(this is very relevant when talking about the type of boot one wears), wears boots everyday to work, gets a new pair every year, and has worn Justins, Lamas, Wolverines, Ariats, etc., I can tell you the pair I have been wearing for the last two years are Double H. They are far and away the best of the bunch I have worn and owned. Second place would be the Justins and then Ariats. While comfortable, the inside of the Lamas completely fell apart after a year. My heal would get cupped in them and I couldn't get them off. Wolverines......not even in the team picture.

ETA: Whatever you do stay away from Twisted X. I have 3 coworkers who have gotten them and all fell apart in 6 months or so. The rubber even pealed.

I don't like the insoles that come with Red Wings. Got a pair at the store that fits perfectly. They also have a machine that measures your size.

You could also get custom fit boots from White's or Wesco if you want them to last a long time
