I'm cooking tomorrow wanting to make a roast just want easy ways. Was thinking of slicing and making sandwiches or put on French bread.

Any help is alway appreciated.

Quick and easy it is. 2 can cream of mushroom, 1 pack dry onion soup mix, 2 cans chicken broth and 2 cans of water. It was my go to when I was much younger. It makes its own gravy. It can cook all day or night on low, or on high for a few hours.

That's a good one. I didn't do the chicken broth.

The juices can be saved and you can make a stew with that, some veggies, and the original meat.

Just seeing what I had in cupboards

3 LB chuck roast
Onion soup mix
Slap ya mama
Coca-Cola

Thinking of using half can of coke and season with mix and slap ya mama then slow cook all day.

I like y'all's ideas but have question. What does chicken broth do for taste?

I do something similar

I usually lightly dust the roast with some flower and EVOO and get a quick sear on it first

Instead of the cream of mushroom I'll use the golden mushroom soup mix if you can find it, and beef broth in lieu of the chicken broth. And maybe a can of french onion soup or some shallots.

Either way will come out great, just giving my interpretation of the slop lol

My recipe is:

Coat with cayenne, garlic powder, and a touch of flour. Brown it in a couple tbsp of veg oil until you think youve almost burnt it. Halfway through the brown, throw some seasoning blend in the pot. When finished browning, put everything into a crockpot and use a can of chicken broth to deglaze the browning pot. Add contents to crockpot.

Add:
1 pack of lipton onion soup mix
1 chicken bouillon(sp?) cube
1 more can of chicken broth
Cayenne and garlic powder to taste
Salt to taste (the chicken broth has a fair amount of salt so dont go crazy here)

Set on low 8hrs.

Protip: for every cup of rice you cook, add 1&1/2 capfuls of vinegar to the rice.

You said you might want to make sandwhiches. All of the above recipes are for roast, rice, and gravy. Those recipes should use chuck roast or any roast with some fat marbled in it. This is my french dip recipe. It is important for this recipe to use a rump roast (very little fat).

3-4 lb rump roast
1 can of french onion soup
1 can of beef broth
1 can of dark beer
Garlic powder and cayenne

Throw all that into a crockpot and do something else for 7 hours. Slice it and use the au jus for dipping. I butter and toast poboy buns with provolone for the sandwich.
