Here's a candidate for OC @ LSU. He's a close personal friend of Les Miles and helped develop Drew Bress and Philip Rivers. Wiki page calls him "one of the winningest OC's in NFL history." He has the credibility to look Miles in the eye and do whats needed to run the offense effectively. Oh....and he's currently available to step in when Miles is ready.

Yeah, I read this word-for-word on one of the college football sites. I wasn't aware he and Miles were friends until I read that.

But if Miles were going to make a change at OC, I believe he would have already done it. I think it's a big mistake not to bring in someone new for the position. With a good offense, we, not Bama, might be looking at a three-peat.

This is the true heartbreak in this whole football soap opera. And the source of why so many people get crazy every time the 1/9 date comes up. And this year's UF, UA, and Clemson games. It was and still is so very, very correctable. Sitting on the problem, denying the need, or hoping it will magically go away if we just recruit the right talent this time, is not solving it. We all know. We all know.

I think Miles knows this, but his idea of "correction" is just getting better execution of the current offense. But even if it is just execution, surely he should see that the current staff isn't getting it done - after all, aren't the coaches ultimately responsible for the players to execute the offense? I have a hard time understanding how Miles cannot see that offensive staff changes are needed.

I think depending on who he gets it just might persuade Robert Nkemdiche (DE 6'4" 285 lbs.) into signing with LSU and not Ole Miss. You say, yes, but he is on the Defense, I say, it makes a big difference when the Defence thinks with the style of Offense they run will give the Team as a whole a better chance at winning than someone they may not trust will give them that edge. They also may pick up several more big time recruits with the hire if it is the right one. I am of the feeling the sooner the better, that way they can all plan sooner with the Offense they will run than later. Just sayin!

The pumpers may ask "What's the hurry? Everything's fine." but I totally agree with your point of view and sense of needing this to happen sooner rather than later. It's not going away. And another year of what we've seen these last 5 years puts us one year deeper into the hole CLM or some coach will eventually have to help LSU climb out of. Why not start climbing now?
