LSU finished #14...my GF wants me to ask if the board really cares that they

didn't finish, say, #8. I told her it is pretty much meaningless. You are either #1 or it kind of doesn't matter. What do y'all think? Of course you want to win the Bowl game, but LSU finishing #8 or #14...who gives a frick.

That's what she is saying. My stance is that few people really give a frick now that it is all said and done. I mean, is South Carolina really stoked that they finished in the Top 10? They are probably happy about not losing the bowl game....

Yes I care about finishing in the top 10 and also just generally would rather us finish higher rather than lower.

I'd say top five has some appeal. After that, doesn't really matter. BCS changed the way people look at rankings anymore.

That's more or less how I feel. #3 is nice, but the difference between #7 and #12 means nothing.
If LSU were to win their bowl game and finish #14 vs lose their bowl game and finish #7, I'd take the Bowl win every day of the week.

this....honestly, I feel that all bowls outside of the BCS bowls are basically just exhibition games...
