Just curious. Made a fishing trip down in Dularge yesterday, and we came across 5 dead gators floating in a canal. Each one was maybe 4ft and they all had a bullet hole in their head.

Seems like this would be highly frowned upon.

Well, if you are asking if shooting gators out of season and leaving them floating in water is legal or not, then the answer is no, it's not legal

How many did you shoot....... Eeeerrrrrrrrrr, I mean "see floating" lol

Seriously wondering, are you really not sure if it's illegal to shoot animals and leave them?

I definitely did not shoot them.

But I just wasn't sure about alligators. I know some people claim them as a nuisance, but honestly I've never looked into rules on killing them because they've never bothered me.

Seemed like what I found was illegal and was just making sure.

Rules are not complex but getting tags is. Political too.

Whoever shoots a gator has to have a tag from LDWF, be it a hunter in season, or a nusance trapper. As a hunter ou have I own or lease land to get tags...

Our state does gun laws right. However some of outdoors and game laws are flawed. The application to gator hunt is a curious thing.
