I believe the state water season, goes into effect this year, but the season he is referring to is the Federal season.

You frickers are never happy

The state waters are also SUPPOSED to be getting extended, but that will be after several lawsuits by the Feds so the state doesn't get the oil/gas revenue from Rigs that will now be in state waters.

Everything is about money man.

I think they pushed the state waters for fishing out to 12 miles from 3. This helps some...

Getting Worse every year.

What happened I though the local WLF were going to adopt their own rules?

Did they and this is just for federal waters?

“There’s no way we will have anything (regional management) in place this year,” Pausina told the commission. “We will know more about where the council and National Marine Fisheries (service) stands after next week’s meeting.”

Other LWFC action included: Approving a Notice of Intent to add four species of reptiles to the restricted list, a move that bans live trapping or killing these species without a LDWF permit. Added to the list were the eastern diamondback rattlesnake, the Louisiana pine snake, the black pine snake and the Mississippi gopher frog;

Like DL said, they haven't yet, and it's all about that grease. LA, MS, and AL are all pushing for 9 mile state control the same as TX and FL but it won't happen until 2014 at the earliest according to the link. Looks like this year is a bust if you plan on going past Timbalier, its 27 days anywhere past that.
