True or False: Peyton Manning had his second best season as a PRO this year...

2004 was his best season, without question (since it was one of the best seasons a quarterback has ever had), but does anyone else think that this year was his second best season?
4,659 yards, 68.6%, 37 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 105.8 quarterback rating
What do you think?
Simply amazing that he came back from all of those neck injuries and did this...

I don't think there is any question.

I'm convinced the dude could be 50 and still put up numbers he does
RIP to the AFC West until he retires

Peyton might also crack to 1,000 career rushing yards mark soon. GOAT.
FWIW, not really, but he's at 728 yards right now.

Average 2 yards a carry, I wouldn't hold my breath.

He's had quite a few better statistical seasons(considering the era). But considering the talent you can make an argument this is his 3rd best year after 04 and 09

what?
Second highest touchdown total.
Second highest completion percentage.
Second fewest interceptions for his career.

When he had less passing yards, less touchdowns, and more interceptions?
wut?

I'm going to give him as much credit as possible, he really had a great year.

1.Peyton barely played in the last 2 games of the 09 seasons
2.Consider the era, passing #s have exploded from 09 to now(yes in just 3 seasons). Peyton's 33 tds in 09 were second in the NFL(34 lead the league). Peyton's 4500 passing yards were also second in NFL(4700 lead the league)
3. 09 was his first year without Marvin Harrison.
4.Peyton had a patchwork OL which featured Charlie Johnson, Ryan Lilja and Kyle DeVan(rookie) all of whom were cut over the next year.
5.He had the last ranked rushing offense in 09
6.He won every game he finished that season

As the biggest Peyton fan in the world, I can say that VerlanderBEAST is actually right in the comparison of 2009 to 2012. 2009 was Peyton's greatest year as a pro, imo. 2004 was exceptionally statistically, but stats mean jack shite. In 2009, he really elevated his game. They won their first 14 games and could have truly gone into the super bowl 18-0. Peyton had 7 4Q comebacks that year and just played some of the best quarterbacking ever. This year's o-line, defense, running backs, coaches, and I would even say receivers are all better than in 2009.

He had much better WRs and TEs in 09 but his OL and runningbacks were trash. The D that year was actually great until Mathis and Freeny got injured.

The WRs were Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and Austin Collie. Wayne was past his prime, Garcon was incredibly inconsistent, and Collie was very solid but would never be a top 10 receiver. I think with D. Thomas's size, he is better than Wayne in a lot of ways. He at least has more potential. But even if you say Wayne was better and had better chemistry with Manning (which is true), Decker is better than the very frustrating Garcon whose drop on 3rd down in the 2nd quarter of the super bowl might have been the key play that cost them the game. Stokley with his experience exceeds Collie's youth.
Also, the Colts D was never that great in 2009. It was serviceable but gave up a lot of points to good offenses. As you indicated, it dropped significantly when Freeney got hurt in the AFC Championship game. Broncos D this year far, far exceeds the Colts D of 2009.

Collie and Stokley are the same exact thing except Collie was much faster and much more elusive than a 36 year old Brandon Stokley

Its close but I'll take that 09 Colts D when they were healthy and had something to play for.
