has LSU not been able to develop any kind of a QB?

4 Star Jarrett Lee

4 Star Jordan Jefferson

4 Star Zach Mettenerger

None of these have ever been able to establish themselves as a consistent threat in the offensive system. In stark contrast to this other to the east, they seem to be able to just put whatever guy in place and win championships.

3 Star Grey McElroy

4 Star AJ McCarron

What is really holding LSU back here? I'm starting think more than anything with the play calling, or offensive philosophy, this is really why LSU struggles on offense.

Crowton was all but fired and the OC hasn't been filled since
Kragthorpe was hired but then reassigned
Studrawa was promoted but didn't really earn it

Miles still has not hired an OC to replace Crowton

Does Miles coach the QBs? I'm asking because I guess I really don't know...LSU hasn't seemed to have a QB that could throw a consistent reliable pass to the flats or a bubble screen in all that time. I think Crowton shoulder (fairly or not) a lot of the blame for the lack of the QB development, well, 2 years into the Kragthorpe era (I thought he was the QB coach anyhow), and LSU is barely any better than before at the position, and worse in some ways.

I actually thought Mett came along pretty nicely (2nd half of the season). Bowl game was not good but prior to that he was really progressing imho fwiw.

I thought so too until the Arkansas game, and then obviously the Chicken bowl, why the regression?

i have no idea what miles does behind the scenes.

i do know the pumpers say one of miles strengths is hiring a good staff.

coaches have come and gone and the qb play is still garbage.

doesn't seem like les is coming through on one of his supposed strengths.

So it is Miles fault for being so stubborn and not enough sense to hire an OC?? I agree. Also, he can't develop shite for QBs. Funny, give the D to Chavis, and no Miles, and it is a machine. Miles involved with offense, and it is mediocre...thank god for talented players, and great RBs

It took one season to realize that co-defensive coordinators didn't work well. How long will it take to realize that the current OC situation doesn't work well?

Funny that the sunshine pumpers think Miles is the reason for all the wins, but not the key losses, bowl losses, poor offense, bad clock management. It's all ok because we win 10 games a season, lose the big ones, and bowl games. Many coaches could so what Miles has done and better with what LSU has to offer. Saban built it up, Miles stepped into a golden program just like any coach could!! He is not anything special, so get over it. That being said, he is our idiot coach, so I will support him and especially the players.

You didn't list the best QB prospect in his class,Russell Shepard, that never threw a pass at LSU after 4 seasons.

Jarrett Lee was not helped by his zero inch vertical leap.

Think about what the only common denominator is for the past five years.

I always thought Jimbo Fisher was overrated but he is one hell of a QB coach. Not one single QB under Miles has turned out worth a damn except Matt Flynn. I think Matt Flynn was just a good QB that learned on his own. He even said he learned a lot more when he went to the NFL.

Our QBs make such simple mistakes that should be coached out of them.
