Let's say I have access to a great deal on once used .223 Lake City brass and mil spec bullets. What are my costs associated with a press, dies, powder, stretcher, etc? Is it worth my while to take on this endeavor?

Buy it. Regardless if you use it now, use it later or sell it later. If you have the money add it to inventory...

The aluminum can pickup business must have been good for you over the holidays with all the drunk drivers...

Depends on the press you buy, Ball park if you go with the base line couple hundred bucks. you can get the single stage press that lee makes in a kit for less than 200 normally. Right now is bad because everything is sold out as far as the kits go. you then have to get your die sets, 30-40 bucks each. and powder bullets etc. I feel it is worth it but everyone is different.

A single stage press kit and a set of dies, looking at about $425.

Primers(1000), powder and bullets(100), another $100. That should load you 100 with leftover powder and primers.

Oh, you can get a Lee single stage kit around $250, but spend the extra and go with a RCBS kit. Die sets cost around $35 now per set.

As many boating accidents as you've had you should be doing good for a while

Say the brass and bullet will cost me a total of 20 cents. Then I've got to buy powder. What's my per round cost for powder?

But you can reload the brass more than once, I don't know how many times but you should be able at least a couple...

Depends on what you wanna do. Cheap ball ammo is cheaper then you can reload it for unless you have access to a lot of brass. You can load good ammo for about what you can find cheap ammo for minus your time. Regardless,it's a fun rewarding hobby and you should get into it if you're interested.

Yeah, that's a "lot of brass." I'm not familiar with the lake city brass.

Download a reloading app, plug in your numbers and it'll tell you how much each round costs
