By all accounts LSU's defense got this team 10 wins this year. Rare was the occasion that LSU truly outscored a quality opponent.

If the majority of our defensive leaders head for the NFL early that could spell the beginning of the end for Miles, unless he changes his offensive philosophy.

Downs (sr), Edwards (sr).... gone

Mingo (jr), Montgomery (jr), Logan (jr), Minter (jr), Reid (jr), Simon (jr)... probably gone

You don't lose your entire starting DL, your All-everything ML and 2 starters in your secondary without losing games because of it. Miles better figure this shite out quick or 2013 could be a reliving of an offensive Mallveto experiment.

lol hate to burst your bubble but the defense is the reason we almost lost the USC, Ole Miss, and aTm games and lost the Bama game.
So while they've been awesome at times, don't act like they haven't let this team down too

They didn't exactly play lights out lastnight either. Clemson marched down the fiels on us in the first half pretty good.

The D almost lost USC and aTm? Um no. They kept us in the entire game and the offense shite the bed on most opportunities they were given in both those games and could never put it in the end zone. Neither of those games was altogether different from the Alabama game.

HOWEVER, a defense ANY WORSE than this years only proves my point further - Les better change his offensive ways or losing this defense could cost him his job.

WFT? How does losing players to the NFL equate to a Mallveto experiment? Are you trying to say that Chavis is not capable of finding replacements and fielding a formidable defense???

Clemson scored 13 points in the first 3 quarters. That's about as lights out as you can expect when playing a good team. And by the 4th Mingo and Montgomery were both out and there was no pressure on Boyd, giving him plenty of time to carve up the young secondary.

Whatever your opinion of the defense this year, and the secondary definitely had some problems, no one can seriously believe that the offense is the strong point of this team, or that we can afford to have the defense get even worse.

If the offense stays the same and the defense gets worse next year we are looking at 6 wins.

Listen here Jack. The great thing about Les is he recruits great players to play defense for him and the great DC he hired. Once this group leaves another steps up and continues the greatness
