You may also enjoy some Emily Wells

Warpaint (watch for the bounce around 2:10)
Just checked, that is Josh Klinghoffer (current RHCP guitarist) playing drums in the video. I'm pretty sure the much hotter Shannyn Sossamon played on the recording.

Good one. And her full time band, The Kills, was great in N.O. this past year.

try theSTART - melodic rock, pop with a gothish lean. Check out "the 1234" - video has a Clockwork Orange flavor

Lush was such a great band.

This video says it's live from Texas... but I'm pretty sure it's from New Orleans:

LUSH Hypocrite / Undertow LIVE 1994

Miki Berenyi sounds really good live. Undertow is one of my favorites.

Throwing Muses/Kristen Hersh had some good music back in the day as well.

Hooverphonic also has a very unique sound.

Camera Obscura is pretty poppy, but I'm in love with their singers voice.

Heartless Bastards - don't really fall under any of those categories, but their singer sings with more balls than a lot of male singers out there.
