Rex ryan runs a very similar system to that of Gregg Williams doesn't he?

Rex doesn't really run a 4-3 or a 3-4 but his defense is aggressive similar to Williams that's about it

He also probably has the worse personnel in the league. I say he deserves one more year to get the players he wants and to rebuild the defense with those players

thats bullshite.

we upgraded the talent on defense this past offseason and went from 13th in points and 24th in yards to 31/32.

I'm just saying most coordinators get more than a season. It's not good to change schemes and coaches every year

I'm just saying most coordinators who have the worst _______ in the league or NFL history aren't kept around.

That being said, I think he gets another year. He better do something next year though.

I would normally agree with this statement, but can Spags get the personnel with the sanctions, and Salary Cap situation the Saints are in. That is the biggest problem he has right now. I think the Saints have 135 mil'ish against the 120 mill. projected cap for next year. Loomis will be putting in work, and Spags will have to wait and see who and what he can get for the price. Unless Loomis and Benson go executioner on the D players and cut a lot of the under performing players, including Vilma ( I would cry). I see a tough road ahead for Spags.

top notch d coord come in and make improvements. look at wade phillips in houston, mike nolan, even gregg williams. you dont come in and field the worst defense ever and get a pass, at least in my book.

lovie would be great, but he probably gets a head coaching gig.

I personally think Wade Phillips would be a great hire. That being said, I hope you guys stick with Spags cause that D is terrible!

The first half of the season he was missing a Lb coach, two veteran team leaders at vital positions, a HC, the offense was deplorable, and he had just started a totally new defensive scheme. They did improve. God damn give the dude a little slack.

Breesus, I'm not going to argue that we should get rid of Spags, but I seriously don't think we improved. The only time our defense played well was against really crappy teams like Tampa and Oakland. NYG, Cowboys and Carolina ran up the score on us more than is acceptable. Yesterday's performance was a regression. Especially since we've played them once before this season.
