Payton is coming back and well never have to see this abortion of a defense on the field together again. I hope their bags are waiting for them on the curb right now

You guys better have a helluva draft for Defensive players. Payton is a good coach but he'd have to be a miracle worker to fix that cluster-frick.

I absolutely think it was a nightmare. We had Superbowl expectations. Then Goodell made up some bullshite, raped the organization from top to bottom and then we witnessed the worst defense of all time in route to a losing season. Yeah id call it a nightmare

Hoping we can sign William Moore, get a good OLB and either Michael Johnson or Chris Avril or draft a top flight DE.

If we had Payton this year we would have won 12 games and went to the playoffs despite the defense. Now next year, without league sanctioned suckage, the sky is the limit.

I am so sick of this attitude. This is the same bullshite you see on Tiger rant all the time. "Well, we had 10 wins so its automatically a good season." Yeah, 10 wins. Great. We went in looking to go all the way. We had the personnel to do so. We just failed to execute.
Saints situation is the same. After the way last season went, we were in position to have a similar run. Yeah, our D wasn't lights out last year but it was good enough. We returned enough of the "good ones," plus scored enough in FA and the draft to feel like we had a great shot at a run this year. Obviously that did not work out.
So yeah, I'd call a Super Bowl-expectant season that turned into 7-9, no playoffs, the statistical work defense in league history a nightmare. You can't call a lot of the Saints first 30-40 years a nightmare because it doesn't mean shite to go under .500 if no one (including the fans) expects more.
TL;DR Your mindset is retarded, this season WAS a nightmare, period.

1 TD less on defense goes a very long way. Saints were in a ton of losses this season, just had stupid plays/decisions/executions. Hopefully with Patyon the 3rd downs and red zone gets cleaned up. More points, more time on the field, our defense instantly improves. Plus a FA signing, 2 or so draft picks, improvement by individual players in another year of the scheme will all help certainly.
