A better chance at SEC and National championships, playing for a coach with 3 titles and a possible 4th, playing for a coach with NFL head coaching experience and well, better academics.

Prom, be honest .... If you had a son who was an elite football player ... Would you rather him play for Saban or Miles?

I disagree with that, but not just as it relates to Bama. It should be a kids decision. A coach applying undue pressure to steer a kid in any direction other than where the kid wants to go makes them a bad person.

Well, I'd actually agree but there are plenty of coaches who steer their kids to LSU and they'd never receive criticism here.

But I do agree with that.

Oh, I know. Every fanbase has their hypocrites. I cringe when I read people praise Shows, who actually does steer kids to LSU, and bitch about Curtis, who doesn't actually steer kids away from LSU.

Honestly, Miles. Not because of his record or his winning percentage, but because of his personality. Because.....

The difference is minute. I get it. Saban is playing for a NC again this year. But he has fallen backwards into this success as well. He set them up to be there, yes, but he's had good fortune to get to the game. But the winning percentages are close enough to consider both elite winners. The final results suck here in the last few years with Bama being in the title games, but it is what it is.

It's not like Miles and the LSU program is so far behind Bama that it would make me send my kid to play for a complete prick that doesn't really care about you or your kid.

I know someone that has worked under him and he says he's a complete dickhead a-hole. Needing appointments to meet with him. Was instructed not to even talk to him in the hallways. shite like that.

I despise people that think they are above others, regardless of their success. I'm sure Miles is a dick at times, but I would venture to say he's no where close to Saban's personality.

FTR, if you asked me that question and Miles was coaching at, let's say, USC, I'd still say Miles. You get the idea.

Miles is for sure a better guy.

It does seem Saban has loosened up a bit in recent years however.

It all depends on what you want for your son / player.

I think Saban and Alabama though are good enough that its not wrong for a coach to want them to go there.

Also, if LSU and Bama both win their bowl games, LSU is 35-5 the past 3 years and Bama would be 36-5. If you consider Bama should have never had a chance to get a rematch, then LSU at 36-4 >= Bama at 36-5

Wouldn't that make Bama 35-5 without the rematch?

ETA: or I might not understand your point fully

George, there is a difference between the best program in the nation and the easiest SEC schedule in the nation.

That is both perception and reality.

I hope the best, but if he doesn't move up after this year, why stay?

He likes it at Bama, and he is getting good coaching. He is only a Sophomore, well redshirt freshman.

I am not delusional to think he will be a #1 CB, but who knows if he puts in the work and progress. Heck, how many people passed Ron Brooks but he is doing quite well.

I know he has played in the blowouts and been used as a gunner.

Not really. No one else was going to beat them, the only record that would have changed would be LSUs. We would have donkey-punched any other team in the country last year.

So if education really matters, which it doesn't then ....

it does if you are looking for a job in louisiana or alabama.

secondly, if they have a degree, they have a better shot at getting a decent job to support their family than not having one.

ranking universities education is silly. Much more goes into a kids education. Is he happy/comfortable in his surroundings, does he have the support needed to get educated?

Able to obtain a college degree is better than not obtaining one. where does the kid have the best support family, academic, social, to create the environment for him to obtain it? if that kid is from louisiana, it's lsu, if he's from bama, than it's bama.

if you think education is stricly a arbitrary ranking of quality of education, you're just ignorant. There are many successful people with southern degrees, harvard degrees, lsu degrees, bama degree. the key is the degree for these kids.
