Songs with great basslines
Posted by bobbyray21 on 12/20/12 at 6:13 pm00
I'm a sucker for a song that just creeps along, riding on top of a groovy bassline.
Great example:
Weezer -- Only In Dreams
I'd like to make an entire playlist of songs that follow that bluepritn, and of course they must have great basslines.
Hit me with some suggestions.

Oh, man... That really is a good one.
The first one I generally think about when it comes to bass lines is Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac, or for some reason, Lounge Act by Nirvana.

kbro's list is excellent.
I'd add Tiny Cities Made of Ashes by Modest Mouse.

Jeff Berlin. Great bassist.
Steve Smith of Journey played drums on this track, and Neal Schon played guitar. One of the best solos he ever played at the 1:35 mark. The album is killer.
