An online wine store received their barrel. They waited 18 months for it to come in.

I wanted to open one tonight but I was coming to a neighbors who would've consumed the entire thing quickly so I went with vodka instead.

It's good. Hot, but good. I tried a couple of sips neat, then added a teaspoon of Mountain Valley to it. The water made the nose sweeter (plums, grapes?). To me, the nose is similar to ECBP (could be proof-related). You guys know I like things cool/with an ice orb but I'm enjoying this at room temp with the fridge-cooled spring water. I may put it in the fridge and let it cool for a couple minutes.

Damn, I missed out on a Willet Family Estate rush recently. I guess I need to pay better attention.

I have some extras from several private barrels of WFE if anyone is looking. I went on a spree and I'm paying for it now ;)

So my mother in law picked me up a bottle of each of the 2 different 4roses and 1792s at Calandros. My question is how do I know what 1792 is what? Other than one having #1 written on the back of the bottle in sharpie marker and the other having #2, I have no way of knowing if they are even different.
