Getting all grown up and closed on a house today.

First thing I opened in the house right after closing

My buddy (who was also my realtor) and I couldn't resist the accidentally well placed props.

Lots of whiskey will be drank on the new screened porch

NOLAGT, I fully expect you to one up me and open a PVW23 or the Hirsch 16

Please, to the un-learned, would somebody here list all the fricking abbreviations

I'm confused, and very thirsty

And old and senile

Did I mention senile, I forget too

Have read a review or 2 of the latest releases of Stagg Jr and people are saying it is better than the first release. The proof is 128.7 vs last years 134. May have to grab a bottle of the latest and see.

And can someone tell me what all the fuss over this Old Scout stuff is? I've never heard of it then all of a sudden people are posting pics on facebook like its Pappy 20.

Oh please let Old Scout be the next Pappy/BTAC

The barrel selects for some individuals and stores are the hot items. Old Scout goes out and finds some really good barrels of whiskey from other distilleries to put their name on (at least they're honest about it hence the Old Scout name). Several stores and individuals have been able to select some great barrels for themselves and it's popularity is growing. Some are from societies of whiskey and others like Kenwood Liquor are really popular. It's kind of like the hype with Jefferson's was at first when they stumbled into some phenomenal barrels. The difference is the guy picking for Smooth Ambler seems to really know his whiskey and is consistently picking great ones. Once Smooth Ambler is around long enough, they will be mostly selling their own product and will be called something other than Old Scout.
