There may be a few companies (Noveske, Knight's) that make a more refined product, but you're going to pay for it. My main concern is reliability, and DD, Noveske, etc. are going to be pretty much the same in that regard...excellent.
yeah, you cant really compare Noveske/Knight's and the other custom shop stuff to the others. In terms of widely available, DD and BCM are the best IMO

If I had the money I'd go DD or another high end but I'm OB and OT poor so spikes, PDA, and the others work for me.
On the subject of AR 10 what do y'all think about that DPMS lower.

Fair enough, I'll stick with the $10 Pmags

Quality wise, is BCM one of the better manufacturers?
Compared to lets say PSA, Spikes and Stag, would BCM be the best of the 4?

Some DPSM AR-10s get good reviews actually

A lower is a lower, people get confused and think a brand name lower is better than a no name lower. I remember a few years back there were only like 3 companies making lowers, but magically 50 companies selling lowers. Its funny to watch people get in a hissy about lowers.
The only lower I would pay a premium for would be Knights ambi lower or a LWRC ambi lower.
Regardless of brand there is billet vs forged.
For AR10 there are different patterns. Commonly referred to as DPMS style or Armalite style. There are physical differences and the uppers are not compatible. I would build a DPMS style 308 AR, because of there ability to use pmags. Armalite is building lowers now that accomodate pmags but I think they missed the bus as there is more support for dpms style ars.

All lowers are not created equal. I've seen some that leave gaps and some that need a hammer to get the upper off.
None of those were DD, LWRC, etc.
Lately I've seen just as much hate for people with high end rifles as low end rifles. Some people like driving a Mercedes over a Hyundai, why does that bother people??

My AR10 will be a Mega Upper/Lower, but that LWRC is nice.

Me too. Please let me know when/where you find any.

I know. I think I probably would have added another $400 to my budget to get that one instead of the upgraded PSA model a couple weeks ago

Than that lower was out of spec, it happens. I have a lower that is in spec, but an upper from a big brand name had to hammered off of it. I ordered another big name upper and destroyed that POS big name brand upper for wasting my time. An AR was designed for combat, its spec allows for a certain amount of slop. A sloppy AR may shoot better than a tight fit ar, the accuracy is in the shooter and barrel. It has nothing to do with sloppy upper/lower fit.

I dont own any Hyundais when it comes to rifles. It just pains me to watch people buy $300+ lowers because they think they are better. Id rather help them spend $300 more on a Krieger barrel for that AR and shoot circles around people that spend $300+ for a lower.
But thats me, keep buying those expensive lowers. They sure do look cool.

I have a stag lower.
Kind of what i was getting at. Just because a lower is a lower, it doesn't mean the quality control of the manufacturer is the same.
And I didn't mean to come off as argumentative, just throwing out why I think people move towards the "higher end" lowers.
