So with the opening of the second split I am counting on you NLA boys to post some reports for me. The lil bros and I are planing on making a trip, have a 14ft flat and the dog now just looking for a place to go. Were really wanting to find some timber but the low water is looking like its going to make that tough. Really just want to get into as many GHs as possible. The places on our radar are the following.

Three Rivers WMA
Red River WMA
Dewey Willis WMA
Bayou Cocodrie NWR

Depending on the reports and yal suggestions may also run to these.

D'Arbonne NWR
Upper Quachita NWR
Quachita WMA
Russell Sage WMA

Any reports, recommendations or help in general is much appreciated.

Just a word of advice, most people don't like outsiders. But other than that good luck

I'll try to find out something tomorrow and Sunday, and then I'll let you know if it's worth it..

Had a lot of rain the past two weeks. If it comes another good rain this weekend, low water won't be a problem.

Good luck finding a duck on any of those

ETA: With the lack of rain and low river, there's hardly any water in central LA

No reports but the more rural the area and further you are from populated towns with mills and chemical plants the less retards to frick your hunt up.

I know a guy who is killing here, but he could kill mallards in a bath tub. I'm sure the timber is still pretty dry unless they pumped up the Dismal Swamp. Only real hunting out there is the lakes right now.

Dry as bone unless you want to fight the crazies at Catahoula.

I know nothing about the rest. Good luck it is tough hunting right now with the lack of water and low river conditions.

I beg to differ, we need at least 7-8 more inches before water gets right again.

You in NLA?

Caney is at the top of the banks right now and spilling into the sloughs.

Hasn't been pumped in 2 years. fricking terrible! With them not pumping it it overpopulates all the other places.
Pisses me off!

Negative, Avoyelles. I wish we would have caught that much, but the last big rain only yielded an inch and considering the fact I was walking in my ring with leather boots before that, it didn't help much.

We have a good little hole on the public land we hunt close to the house but it has been found out and you now have to fight a ton of dont know their arse from a hole in the ground yahoos. I am determined to make this a good weekend though so hopefully I will have some good results tomorrow, the birds should be down.

May want to try the Boeuf WMA. Never hunted it but I hear they have some greentree areas on it. Don't know if it's pumped or not. If not, probably doesn't have water though

Yea it never fails, anytime I want to make a trip it seems I am always getting the shaft from water. Wanted to make a STX-WTX deer hunt last year but it was pretty much a desert and all the deer were hurting.

Does anyone know if Agelina and the Delta have water? I know they pump some but they are a big factor in whether or not that area holds ducks.

The pumped fields obviously have water, but not many fields are pumped right now. I don't know what this last rain did though.
