Looking for one to record gameplay and other things. Currently have PS3 going into receiver with 7.1 that goes to TV. Have the Turtles plugged in so I wasnt sure how to connect one if I have one. Any suggestions on which to buy is appreciated.

**Need HD recording abilities.**

Been hearing a lot about this one.

1080P and this is a cool feature

Flashback recording lets you time shift your game play so you can simply slide back in time on your Mac or PC and hit the record button retroactively

How does the audio work on these?

Can you only record the audio for people in the party and/or lobby?

I guess what I really want to know is can you get the audio to hear reactions from the other team raging in-game?

Yes. You just enable chat on your Xbox to play through both the speakers and headset then turn your game volume down in the same menu.

Bump

Are the Hauppage PVRs any good?

I'm thinking about picking up something fairly cheap just to screw around with and record some gameplay.

Anything in the $200-$250 range including software that would be decent?

You won't spend that much. I have the Hauppauge because at the time that's all they had and mine being an older one only does 720P :(

The gaming edition they make now does 1080P and is only $150.

Honestly they all do the same thing. I would just read up on all of them and see which one you prefer.

If they would have had the AverMedia when I bought mine I would have gone that route and that new Elgato is pretty sweet that I posted.

My old one also only uses component cables. All the new ones have HDMI options now which is a huge plus. Esepcially for people using a PC monitor to game on.

I thought about getting rid of my old one for $100 if I could and getting the AverMedia one though that AverMedia one only does 1080i I don't think anyone would notice

Sweat used to use his mac with his PVR I think. Ask him what he used.

Greatness

Will it all work the same with a laptop? That's all I use.

I know I can probably google all this but it's easier to ask you

ETA: Laptop has an HDMI connection also

It will. I use mine on my laptop to record with.

The HDMI is just a pass through from Xbox to TV. The PVR will feed the signal to your laptop via USB and use software to record it.

I did lol at him camping for a second, tossing his predator drone, and getting a money shot on the guy coming from around the corner.

Got my first combat knife bloodthirsty this morning.

I got to 6-7 kills in a row in about 15 seconds.

Run in spawn
Knife hardscoping snipers in back
Hide
Repeat
?????
Profit

We have to record some of those combat axe and knifing sessions we have. I really wish we had that SnD recorded with me, you, Proof, and Mear.

Killcam round 1 - MJ gives chase for 10 seconds...Knife in back to end round

Killcam round 2 - Nappy steps around corner...combat axe in the back of the planter

Got a riot shield killcam the other day. The recipient was none too happy
