If Simon leaves before he is ready it would easily bring back memories of Trev Faulk leaving early. Project 3-4 instead goes undrafted and is an NFL bust!

Player on team - He's ok, not that great

Player leaves early - He'll go undrafted, if not Mr. Irrelevant

Player performs well in NFL - Why post this here? More sports board

I don't think CB is Simon's best position at the next level.
Simon could have been the tall possession WR LSU was missing this year.

I agree with the OP. Simon has NFL bust written all over him.

If the only thing about you as a CB that stands out is... your height, then you are going to have problems once you try covering Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones or their equivalents every single Sunday.

Let me ask you geniuses this. If Simon isn't a shutdown corner in college, what makes you think he will be a shutdown corner in the pros? Or even an adequate one?

If an LSU player is ready to go to the NFL, I'm okay with them leaving early. I just don't see Simon as ready to go to the NFL.

His family may be ready for him to go... but his game isn't ready. Anyone can see that. You all can't?

You can't teach height and most WRs are tall in the NFL. You need taller CBs to cover those guys. He will get on with someone...late rounder.

They are all about numbers at the next level.

I just don't think it's any of our business or that our opinion counts for anything.
Also thinks its crappy and pointless to start this kind if thread.

there is no one in the NFL who can cover Calvin Johnson.

Where are all these tall cornerbacks in the NFL? That's a measurable that is going to get Simon to the NFL

He will get drafted 3-4 range if he leaves now, I have no doubt of this.

He is a very good athlete, and has some skills, if he is willing to work, he will have a very good NFL career. He will more then likely, never be a #1 corner, but a number 2-3 corner yes. He can excel here, see him playing with PP7 and Mo.

I personally think he will help his stock by staying however.

You're an idiot. I will be mad if he leaves but will support and pull for him.

Thing about Simon is he could be award-receiving DB next year. If you can go round 1 next year, or round 5 this year, you gotta bite the bullet and stay.

The part that makes me relax about Simon is he posted about how he wants to be an All-American next year

He's also my favorite player, though it was hard a couple times this season. Looking forward to him becoming a PP7/TM7/Mo Claborne type legendary tiger.

I'm sure he'll make certain to consult with you before making his decision.

He may not be "NFL ready" at this point, but it's not our decision to make as to if and when he decides to leave college early. If he decides to go early, then I wish him all the best. I'm certainly not going to hope things don't turn out well for a kid just so I can toot my own horn on an internet message board.
