Causeway was kinda tha suck today

Couldn't see 10' in front of the boat all.day till about 11 ,no tide and no wind. Fish were still there but very difficult to find since they were scattered. Ended uop with only 15 hogs today caught 10 on the jig and the rest on trolling traps.
Had 4 friends out there today and two are charter captains and neither got close to limits.
Huge Bulk reds chasing bait 200 yards straight out from Mandeville Harbor.
Get your Kayaker's on.

I don't understand, buddies in Venice said it took longer for the fog to burn off then it did for them to get their limits. 
Guides fish Ponchy so they'll have a good excuse when they don't return home with limits. But hey, their clients had enough for a fish fry.

Edit I say 10 jigging,not 19.
Pretty sure the lack of tide had most to do with people struggling today more than fog.
And yes,the troll bite is starting to pickup. This front Monday should solidify it.

Damn I saw you out there. I didn't even put two and two together with the Kenner. We ended up around twenty. Real slow. Pretty good fish though. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get around to cleaning them.

Yeah?? What were you in? We had a late start.today. git out to 6 mile at around 8:00 and had to come all the way back to the launch because my Damn remote to my trolling motor was dead. 
Didn't get back out there till about 10:30.
20 fish is a good haul for the conditions today. Y'all were trolling all day I bet.

We were in a big fishmaster. Actualy fished the same stretch of bridge for a while. Caught all but five fish trolling.

Yea fog was crazy. It didn't lift until almost noon. I wish I'd known it was you. I woulda picked your brain a little about fishing the causeway. If there had been a tide would the fish have been closer to the pilings or on one lane more than the other ?

The lane doesn't matter if the current is moving.Fish will be on the down current side of the pilings no matter which lane you fish,Northbound or Southbound.
My favorite fishing is when the tide is coming in(from the east) and fishing the west facing piling on the Southbound side.
