Meh, we shall see, he's only won with Kelly's recruits at both stops.

I hate when people say stuff like this. It makes no damn sense. You act like he just propped his feet on his desk and was like "oh Brian Kelly recruited you, you got this guys, I'll be chilling in here."

You still have to coach up the best of recruits and manage the program, nothing is on auto pilot.

Per Rivals:

2011: #49 (3rd in Big East)
2010: #59 (3rd in Big East)

These would be near last in the SEC. That's what I hate. Oh he had the third best class in xxx conference. Yeah, well as UK fans know, you can be 30th in the country and last in the SEC. It's different here.

If he maybe went to the same high school as Gruden he could be a good coach.

ut fans aren't the only college football fans that think gruden walks on water. grudens fame is amazing; he is the best coach in college football to have never been a college football coach. hell, he wasn't a pro coach long either. head coach, of course.

I realize that there is no way you will answer honestly, but I would love to hear your opinion of Les Miles at the time he was hired because Bielema's career at Wisky >>>>> Miles' career at OK St.

This hire will be the down fall of the UT program

So, the guy has only one losing season on his resume (his first year with a depleted Cincinnati team) and two 10+ win seasons.

So what am I missing?

Congrats to the Vols on the hire. As an aside, I'd bet large that the last thing CBJ does is wear orange pants on the sidelines.

Agreed. If we're going to play the "he won with someone else's players" game, you could say Kelly won with Dantonio's players at Cincy.

Got me on that one. I did have Shreveport in my brain, I just put the wrong bowl there. So much for my wise cracks.

And I guess Brian Kelly sucks too because he always won with Mark D'Antonio's recruits right?

You are aware that DiNardo and his LSU team beat Saban and his Michigan State team in the Liberty - before LSU hired Saban a couple years later.

Correction, it was the Independence Bowl in Shreveport.
