I mean the all world kaepernick didn't do much of anything. Hell, he looked like Alex Smith out there. A very "Alex Smith" score to me. Especially against a not so good defense.

So what now? Is he still considered to have the proverbial "hot hand?"

Smith should not have gotten benched in the first place

Harbaugh may have foxed his box with this decision. Now Smith is pissed and fans are confused about his lack of brilliance.

Interesting...

I wasn't impressed with his play vs the Saints, but they won and Harbaugh knew he could afford it.

Smith should have been back last week tho. He didn't do anything to lose his job. He'll trot Kaepernick back out there another week and I hope he loses again.

He doesn't have the hot hand and should be benched. His two frick-ups accounted for all of the Rams points.

Now Harbaugh is going to be a douche and refuse to wise up despite this being an ideal time to go back. The tub of lard calling plays also needs to be let go, why he's a college HC candidate I'll never know.

Looks like a case of Harbaugh falling in love with what a guy "can" or "should" become. Very Jordan Jefferson-esque.

That said it is just one stinker of a game.

Now that decision has been made, Harbaugh needs to stick with it. Can't change and change back. Shame because Smith may have been peaking.

I mean Smith got benched after he went 26-28 in his last full game. That's why I think it does the team no good when a guy gets benched and really has no chance at doing anything about it. I think Harbaugh wanted Smith benched the entire time he really couldn't cause they were winning. That was Harbaugh's dream. Regardless of his play, once he got hurt he knew that Kaepernick would be his guy based on their division and the lead they have.

They are saying "Damn, the Rams own the NFC west at 4-0-1."

Smith is above average and you would need him to play the game of his life to squeak by.

Harbaugh doesnt want to be in the romo/rivers situation, where you keep waiting for the inner "elite" to manifest while knowing deep down it aint there.

I'm a Niners fan and I'm not upset. It's one game, we're still 8-3-1 and looking good.
