I believe the argument is non-sequitur here:

quote:

Saban signs Drew Brees, he doesn't go to Bama

Part of the Brees/Payton success is working relationship between Payton and Brees that is based on a free exchange of ideas.

When has little Nicky even pretended to listen to anyone else? Of course, maybe I'm wrong. Plus, the dolphins probably needed a bigger. more mobile QB at the time due to a lack of O-line, if my recollection is correct. Not that Culpepper as mobile as they had hoped, LOL.

Here's hoping Jerry Jones decides he needs Saban and talks him back into the NFL. Could you imagine those ego's trying to get in an elevator together?

No because Miles would be in a bigger shadow than he is already.

A lot of people also forget the gems oomis and co have found in the draft that led to the saints getting a go to wr and guys to block for brees.

Tsk tsk, Mrs. Amaro. Such language from a lady!

And I'm an LSU alum and I'm glad Brees is a Saint.

The real question is who's to say that Brees would be as effective in a Saban run system, when clearly it's the relationship between he and Payton that makes him what he is today.. Last night is proof of that...

Saban would probably only stuck around for another year anyway but you're correct he most likely would not have ended up at Bama. I think, aside from Bame becoming dominate again, the situation worked out great for all parties involved except the Dolphins.
