That was only 20 years ago. It's not like they're all dead.

Is it as simple as winning?

I don't get how you can stop being a fan of a sport.

I was a student back then and attended all the games. Dale Brown had a magic about him that made the games exciting. The players were iconic of their own accord. Rudy Macklin, Derrick Thomas, Howard Carter, Nikita Wilson, Don Redden, Chris Jackson, Shaquille, etc., all had their own individual fan support that brought in more fans to the games. It was always a packed house. Man those were the days.

No idea what Johnny Jones has to do to bring in more fans, but I believe it's coming.

We have probably been the most consistently good team in college football since the turn of the century

As a student all I want is for our team to be bearable to watch. I would be in the game right now if it wasnt for finals

So pathetic to watch on ESPNU. Literally must be 1,000 people in the stands

From the scores this year and listening on the radio for two games it seems more exciting.

Knowing coach Jones brand of ball, it will be much more interesting to watch.

Hears to the resurgence of
THE DEAF DOME.

There is probably more people in Middleton with me than in the PMAC.

LSU does a horrible job advertising non football sporting events to its students. Nobody ever knows about the games or when they are.

Need to get a big center and some 3 point shooters again. JJones is doing a good job, I'm surprised and pleased. His recruiting is professional and good. The future is bright. I lived down there 80-88 and went often to games, loved it. Coleman looks good tonight. How much are tickets now? I think they ought to be free for students and high school players and cheap for the general public. Ought to bring entire high school teams to games for the future and recruiting, like Kentucky does. My best friends wife's brother played at Kentucky 30 years ago and they all got in free as a recruiting toll. We had to pay $5.00.

Actually, many of the geriatric fans and fortysomethings that are PMAC regulars, and dare say the diehards that have been season tix holders over the last few decades, are from the DB era.

IMHO, it's the under age 35 Louisianians, and BR resident grads of same age, Tier-1 Univ Texans with no sense of ties/history/lore, and other students from afar, that grew up in the Ritalin/Playstation, flatscreen tv, tv network game proliferation(when once there were fewer games televised), stadium seating movie theatres with DLP, Dolby Surround, WiFi, etc..eras..

That LSU Hoops just hasn't exhibited a fun style previously, nor the consistent results, and let's face it, being a Football school foremost, seems to need either 1977-1981 era Macklin, Ethan, Swat, Hi C, & Co monster teams, or freakshow players such as Pistol, John Williams, CJ, Shaq, Stromile/Jabari, Baby/Tyrus, etc..to get the fans out en masse.
