don't let your jaw hit the floor when official word comes this sunday that Arkansas has requested permission from Boise State to speak with chris petersen. i had posted this tidbit in the other thread i had opened titled "Chris Petersen To Arkansas". for some reason, that thread suddenly disappeared?

Why are they waiting until Sunday to ask permission when they've known they needed a coach since the Spring

Arky and Tennessee are starting to make Auburn look sane and normal

If someone posts "(insert name) to (insert school)", it better be more than just an idle speculation thread. Otherwise, it's a thread with a misleading title.

He has a game Saturday.

We will wait until the coach's season is over to request official permission to speak with a coach.

because it is considered common courtesy to not ask permission to speak to a head coach until the regular season is complete. boise finishes saturday against nevada.

do you really think jeff long is at ground zero after 8 months? not hardly.

if it were a coach who was not still in the regular season schedule, long would have already named a coach.

yes.

and between St. Jude's in Memphis, and Arkansas Children's Hospital/UAMS in Little Rock, there is no better neuro and cancer care for youngters anywhere in the nation. children come from around the world for treatments of these specifics.

His son is already in one of the best hospitals in the country for his treatment, plus he feels comfortable there. Peterson won't leave for money, nor will he leave knowing that the transition will be hard for his son and whole family. He's turned down better offers, plus Texas is about to come calling. Nonetheless good luck, it's not bad to dream

This same thread was on TexAgs last year before Sumlin got hired. Same arguments for/against damn near verbatim.

My two pieces of insight:

1. Arky ain't getting Petersen.

2. The Hogs will be glad they didn't when they find their guy( Arkansas is a bad arse place, but it ain't Idaho. Petren is left coast, you can do better.)
