My Updated Bowl Projections

BCS Projections
Rose: Stanford vs. Nebraska
Orange: Florida State vs. Rutgers
Sugar: Florida vs. Oklahoma
Fiesta: Kansas State vs. Oregon
BCSNCG: Notre Dame vs. Alabama
No real stunners here. While I firmly believe Kent State will get the help necessary to crack the BCS Top 16 (and be ranked higher than Rutgers OR Louisville), I think Northern Illinois wins the MAC title game and comes up just short of the Top 16 themselves. Should Kent State win, however, they will slot into the Orange Bowl with Rutgers going to the Sugar.
Other notes:
-Sorry, LSU fans. Just no way the Cotton passes up the Aggies-Longhorns matchup. With the Outback (almost) 100% certain to take an East team again, it's to the Chicken Bowl for the Tigers against Clemson. Only hope for the Tigers to avoid Atlanta is if the Outback bucks the trend and takes LSU. But that likely leaves a USCe-Clemson game in Atlanta which bowl organizers will avoid.
-Pittsburgh will beat USF and become the 71st bowl-eligible team. UConn will come up short at home against Cincinnati. Central Michigan at 6-6 will be the only team left out of a bowl game this season.
-Due to new guidelines set in place by the NCAA after UCLA's 6-7 season in 2011, Georgia Tech will NOT receive a bowl-game waiver.
-These projections are meant to be for fun. Don't be a dick about it.
-Good a season as San Jose State had, Conference USA getting to 5 bowl-eligible teams screwed them. They were a Hawaii Bowl lock before Rice became eligible. Now Rice can go to New Orleans and SMU has accepted the Hawaii bid. With no tie-in for the Spartans, the At-large berth in the Military Bowl becomes theirs almost by default.
-The MAC and Sun Belt berths are my best guess as to how the conferences will disperse their teams geographically.
-Natural progressions had Vanderbilt in the Gator Bowl, but I think it's wise to keep Vandy close to home. Moo State will bring more people to the Gator Bowl. This was a swap off.
Non-BCS Bowl Projections:
New Mexico: Nevada vs. Arizona
Famous Idaho Potato: Ball State vs. Utah State
Poinsettia: San Diego State vs. BYU
Beef 'O'Brady's: Western Kentucky vs. Central Florida
New Orleans: Rice vs. UL-Lafayette
Las Vegas: Boise State vs. USC
Hawaii: SMU vs. Fresno State
Little Caesars Pizza: Middle Tennessee State vs. Northern Illinois
Military: Toledo vs. San Jose State
Belk: Duke vs. Cincinnati
Holiday: Texas Tech vs. Oregon State
Independence: Louisiana Tech vs. Ohio
Russell Athletic: Virginia Tech vs. Louisville
Meineke Car Care: Purdue vs. Baylor
Armed Forces: East Carolina vs. Air Force
Kraft Fight Hunger: Arizona State vs. Navy
Pinstripe: Syracuse vs. West Virginia
Alamo: Oklahoma State vs. UCLA
Buffalo Wild Wings: Michigan State vs. TCU
Music City: Vanderbilt vs. Bowling Green
Sun: NC State vs. Washington
Liberty: Ole Miss vs. Tulsa
Chick-fil-A: Clemson vs. LSU
Gator: Mississippi State vs. Wisconsin
Heart of Dallas: Minnesota vs. Iowa State
Capital One: Georgia vs. Michigan
Outback: South Carolina vs. Northwestern
Cotton: Texas A&M vs. Texas
BBVA Compass: Pittsburgh vs. UL-Monroe
GoDaddy.com: Kent State vs. Arkansas State
Rose: Stanford vs. Nebraska
Orange: Florida State vs. Rutgers
Sugar: Florida vs. Oklahoma
Fiesta: Kansas State vs. Oregon

I could fap to this. Be one of the better bowl match ups in my opinion. Would definitely go watch it.

Orange Bowl would have last pick... so Sugar would probably take Rutgers to face Florida and Orange would be stuck with Florida State vs. Kent State.
Side note... if GA Tech and Kent State were to win, would that matchup be the worst BCS game ever?

You're right. Not sure why I thought the Orange was picking before the Sugar this year.

After KState hands Texas its 4th loss, and Kent State wins vs NIU, OU will drop down to the Cotton, and Texas then to the Alamo.
LSU vs OU or A&M vs OU in the Cotton?

LSU would stand a much better chance in this scenario, but I still wouldn't put it past them to take A&M over LSU.

You're probably right.
OU vs A&M would finish something like 65-61 and guarantee a 5 hour TV game.
LSU vs OU would finish 20-17.

Independence Bowl: La Tech vs. LSU

I used to enjoy the Independence Bowl from time to time. How it managed to get down to #10 on the SEC list is amazing.

What if Capital One takes the Aggies?
Posted on 11/27/12 at 10:00 am to BraveTiger225
i honestly don't care at this point. i would like cotton because it's after new year and a night game. cap one at 11am or noon on new years day has a typical going thru the motions LSU early game feel written all over it as would outback. chick fil a is new years eve and i will prob. be out of town.

I actually think there is a very good chance this happens. In this case, LSU would go to the Cotton unless UGA beats Alabama. Then I think the Cotton would take Bama, sending LSU to Atlanta.

Right. Everything I've read suggests that Capital One wants the Aggies. I think Schlabach and Edwards have them going to Capital One now.
We would then make the most sense for the Cotton Bowl against likely Texas.

Holiday: Texas Tech vs. Oregon State
Holiday won't pass on USC since they're just up the road. And it would probably be TCU.
bowls are able to decide on teams within one game of each in the conference standings. USC finished 5-4 in the Pac-12, tied with Washington and Arizona State, and one game back of UCLA and Oregon State,
Alamo will pick UCLA/Stanford loser and then it's USC vs. Oregon State for Holiday. San Diego wants to sell tickets.
