There were 3 egregiously bad pass interference calls that may have (or absolutely were) the difference in this game despite the defense's inability to stop Kaeperneck and the 2 pick 6's.

1. Joseph Morgan gets absolutely mugged in the end zone and even gets hurt on the play on an obvious pass interference and the refs flag Morgan for pass interference instead of the corner. Instead of it being 1st and goal from the 1 yard line (if they called it correctly) or 4th down and in field goal range (if they chose not to throw the flag), the Saints have to punt.

2. 4th and 11 Colston gets mugged. He would have easily had the first down and kept the drive alive in the 4th quarter. The no call meant the ball being turned over on downs instead of the Saints getting a new set of downs near mid-field.

3. 4th and long (again). Jimmy Graham has a corner and a safety on his back while reaching for the ball that sails over his head. A flag here would have once again kept the drive alive near mid field. Instead, the 49'ers get the ball back and run the clock out.

The obvious OPI the refs didn't call on the Niners was even worse than the ones you listed. Should have been an easy interception

the refs also hardly ever called holding on either team when both o-lines held every single play

No mention of the Randy Moss mugging of Malcolm Jenkins in the paint? That was just flat out blatant!

should have been a no call. I don't think it Morgan was mugged

Morgan wasn't mugged but he was held. I guess knocking the defenders hand away when he's holding your arm is illegal now.

This. Armbars are illegal & that's just what Carlos Rogers was doing there. Morgan was only attempting to free his arm on that play but got called for OPI instead. If not DPI, it was definitely illegal contact.

I thought the no call on opi was bad, but other than that had no complaints. Actually thought a few holding calls on the 9rs went the saints way. Officiating was not why the saints lost.

The 49ers got away with more than our team is used to, but they kinda just took it to us and we didn't do anything about it. Our Receivers couldn't get separation. They were just too physical for us in this phase of the game.

Now, some of those calls could have dramatically changed field position. It was not the sole reason, but a lot of the missed PI calls and even the moss thing...cant help but remember some games in our past (really everyone's) where flags, for less than what we saw sunday, put us in a far better scoring situation.

I just think obvious missed calls on big plays do somehow play a small factor as well. Especially when you know what they can possibly get you.

While I agree that the 2 Pick 6's did us in, the officiating was absolutely pathetic in the game. The 49ers were holding and clutching our receivers the entire game. Every time the broadcast chose to zero in on coverage of our receivers, there was always a 49er player hitting and holding way beyond the 5 yards allowed and several times (as mentioned) there was hitting and contact way before the ball got to our receivers. If you think this did not dramatically alter the game, you are clueless. Had the officials made the calls that were right in front of their face, it would have been a different outcome. The officials cost us a minimum of 3 drives by my calculations.

They got away with holding on quite a few of Kapernick's scrambles about the pocket as well. But oh well

The harassment they did of our receivers was the most consistent offense, we just didn't do anything about it though to try and get separation and be physical right back.

Koerner said on the radio last night that Smith was holding/grabbing olinmen the whole game. They need to put the umpire back in the middle of the field.

There were a lot of "no calls" that i feel like should have been PI calls. Looked almost as rough of a game as the one in the playoffs last year.

This was the worst of the bunch. What a terrible non-call.

Definitely not an excuse for a loss but it was poor. Most notably was the inconsistency. Like for pass interference you can call it tight or loose, just make it consistent.

The Morgan call should have been a no call in that it was pretty even jostling by the DB and him.

The no call on Moss might be the most unbelievable non call I've seen this year to the other extreme.

They still forced a FG after the Moss no call. The Morgan call would have been 1st & 10 in the red zone with a chance to tie. The niners had the 9min drive and went up 2 scores instead.
