I'm always looking for obscure movies. It's probably the main reason I'm a big fan & defender of Netflix. I've found some really good movies, that I probably wouldn't have seen or known about if not for Netflix. 3 low-budget films that I'll mention here are:
The Man From Earth, Lunopolis & Ink. All 3 of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre & available on Netflix Instant.
I couldn't find a budget for Lunopolis, but I'm quite sure it wasn't much. According Wikipedia, The Man From Earth's budget was 200K & Ink's was 250K.
If your recommendations are available via Netflix Instant, let us know, so we can queue it.

It had a weird reception. Trailer made it look like a Sci-Fi when it is a slow human drama about redemption.
I just think Brit Marling is fantastic.

it is good
it's a human drama with sci fi elements adding to the existential crises. it's really sort of a time traveling movie in a way

She definitely has a bright future. I liked both Another Earth and The Sound of My Voice.
