Getting settled in my stand and trying to get my poncho on and my gun slipped, fell to ground and stock split in half. Wasn't loaded yet good thing. I'm pretty pissed....gotta walk a mile back to camp and grab my shotgun and find another spot.

that sucks but you are alive to hunt another day!
I can almost relate, about 200-300 yards from my stand where my property ends, a neighbor decided to cut down a tree from 6am-7am. my hunts not over but it's just not the same

Last year, I let my oldest brother itismemc borrow my rifle because his was off. As I'm waiting in my truck, he comes out of our barn and proceeded to trip and fall while carrying my gun. He was alright, because my 270 broke his fall. The stock was broken right behind the trigger.
