Pushed out? Tampa traded to get him. Tampa Bay's 2002 and 2003 first-round draft picks, 2002 and 2004 second-round draft picks, and $8 million in cash. How many players have been traded for that?

He might have been pushed out at Tampa, but look at what they've done since then.

Make a bet? Why? Gruden isn't going to change mine your or anyone's life by going to school X. If he was going to show he would've already been around and people would've leaked it with solid reputable sources. The fact that his Disney contract isn't even being discussed is telling. The buyout is staggering.

Boosters man!!!

A sig/avi bet is fine with me. Don't think that affects any lives.

I'll always have respect for him for winning the NC, but he got lazy as shite towards the end. He definitely needed to be let go.

I don't know too much about the Majors/Fulmer situation, as I was 6 at the time, but I take everything from both sides with a grain of salt.

I'm not a Fulmerite. Just a smartass . It was his time to go. The Boosters and Hamilton didn't want Fulmer to run UT into the ground and I agreed with them. Hamilton just royally fricked up hiring Kiffin.

The story I was told by J. Branch and couple others was he did threaten to take the whole staff to Wyoming. Now the reason Majors was in hospital is debatable I've heard heart, drinking, or stress.

Roger Frazier would never say even when we tried to let Tank get him drunk at AEMA conventions.

I meant what I said about Gruden is exactly how a Fulmer supporter backs the assertion that we shouldn't have let him go. I was disappointed in myself

You did set yourself up for that one but at least Fulmerites are a dying breed because everyone seems united about seeing Dooley gone.

If true, this could be a disaster for UT. If he's sucking arse in year two, you're tied to him. But, if he works out, you look like a genius. You can get Bobby P for a 1/3 of the cost.

I know this sounds crazy, but the best source for this search could be in Cookeville. Gary from Adams, USA is huge booster (literally) and that's where they design Adidas gloves and make the hip thigh knee pads UT uses.

If this is true it reeks of desperation and stupidity

A major program doing their due diligence can find a solid hire who deserves a shot - like LSU did with Saban from MSU, Miles from OkS, A&M did in hiring Sumlin, and Florida did in hiring Meyer from Utah.

There are coaches with proven college experience who deserve and would jump at the shot to coach at Tennessee.
