Why would the Pac-12 have interdivisonal games the last week of the season?

So if Stanford beats UCLA this week, they play again the following week @Stanford? Did anyone in the PAC12 office not think that having the team that won the South last year finish the season against a team from the North that went to a BCS Bowl last year was a horrible idea.

PAC 12 should outsource to the SEC to make schedules.

Oh wait.......

SEC needs nine game conference schedule.

That's actually a good point - unless a traditional inter-divisional rivalry game must be played at the end of the season it would make more sense for them to play the last 3-4 conference games only against teams from the same division.

Usually, Stanford finishes the season with Cal, have no idea why it was so early this year.

I agree. Everyone should have played Wofford and Savannah State.

Oregon would still be undefeated.

Pac-12 scheduling is too complicated to consider these scenarios. Aside from the nine-game conference schedule, Cal, Stanford, UCLA, and USC insist on playing each other every year instead of being part of the rotation to not play two interdivision teams each year.

As for Cal and Stanford not playing at the end of the year, every few years one of the end-of-year rivalry dates has to be sacrificed for several reasons, including the fact that Stanford and USC alternate playing their last game against Notre Dame. Here's the complicated explanation:

Wilner explains the schedule

No, The SEC West plays each other & the East pretty much plays the ACC the last week of the season. Does any other conference play inter divison games this late in the season.

Do they have any wins against teams in the Top 25? Or are the Washington Huskies their best win of the year?

USC and Stanford play Notre Dame on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (in alternating years), thus leaving UCLA and Cal in a bind.

Thanks for the link, but after Notre Dame starts playing the ACC will they still dictate the Pac12 schedule?

Considering everything, the biggest victim of the Pac12 scheduling is Cal, who's only bye week is... this week

Yes, they think they represent God.

And if Maryland leaves the ACC, when all the dust settles there may be no ACC for Notre Dame to play.
