I for one have never understood why people feel that they "deserve" the same rewards as those who outperform them.
The only thing that promotes fairness in this world is the concept that in some places you can actually better the standing you were born into.
And that's only "some" not "most" places.
It is a delusion when people think they are "just as good" as anyone else. You may be in some ways, but not all. Your strengths and weaknesses are your own, and you should realize them.
