Rational discussion on the game plan, season etc.

Sorry about telling so many negatigers (who, truthfully, are just fans expressing frustrations we all feel) to frick off. I'm just as bummed about the way this season was set up to be great- and then broke up- as the rest of us.
here's some thoughts; give arguments for/against. Please no "you're an idiot" if you disagree, instead explain why not.
1 Schedule hurt the development of the offense; I posted this weeks ago, and I think it showed true last night. Miles did a great job last season facing a murderer's row, but this season he faced a bunch of cupcakes. I think his approach (try to practice things against chumps) was sound, but it backfired with this team. Instead of Mett scorching North Texas and Idaho, he was exposed to blitzes and it threw off his confidence. The team developed a complex about making mistakes and got tight, and things snowballed until Florida smothered us. Yes or no
2 Last night's calls were strategic, not tactical. Strategic, win the war, vs tactical, win the battle. Winning the war meant something had to be done to relax the players and let them have fun, otherwise we would be offensive on offense all season. So going into Bama, the coaches told the players to go out and have fun. They were gonna run fake kicks, onside kicks, go for it on 4th down. Who gives a frick if it's Bama we're facing- we're LSU and that's how the Hat rolls. And you notice- the players came out and played that way. With a don't give a shite attitude, and took it to Bama. And once they figured out things could work, we finally saw the team (the program) we wanted LSU to be, win or lose. And really, despite risking a loss, the BCS was not up for grabs after losing to Fla (and there being 3 non-SEC undefeateds we can't jump, this late in the season). So why not just go play loose and have fun? In doing so, Miles might have lost the scoreboard against Bama, but also may have fixed the team (offense particularly) for the rest of the season. Yes or no
3 we restored our level of respect and got the 1/9 monkey off our back last night. I think we see that nationally, as we dropped only to 7th with the loss. 1/9 wasn't about Bama winning, it was about us not crossing midfield. After the BCS game, people were thinking we would lose 99 out of 100 if the game was replayed. After last night, nationally at least, I think everyone would say that Bama won on the scoreboard, but we're the team nobody would want to play. Yes or no
4 this performance (in a loss, in what some call a mediocre season), with so many young players making plays, might propel us to #1 next preseason, with an experienced offense returning. Yes or no

LEt me post a rational response before the barrage of tl,dr nitwits;
1. Yes, sort of. I think the spectre of Bama looming like a black cloud, combined with inferior non-challenging opponents did cause concentration and focus issues that got inside their heads culminating with the crappy Florida effort.
2.Not really. Don't have a big problem with the "controversial MadHatter calls" except for not being able to check out of the fake field goal when the D formation showed it wouldn't work. But I don't think it took trick plays to get the team ready to play- they were busting their asses from the get-go, no additional motivation neccesary. They played loose because one way or another they were finally getting a bad taste out of their mouths (too bad they replaced it with something else hard to swallow), not because Miles promised he'd be kooky. I agree that winning out might've still left us short of the title game if Oregon K State and ND all win out.
3.Yes. Even short on the scoreboard, we did regain a level of respect, and shut up a lot of people who were saying we weren't very good. I was expecting some of the poll voters to rank us inordinately high for a two-loss team as a sign of respect for the effort, as in "if Bama is #1, then LSU must damn sure be 1-A".
4. Yes. Win out and crush someone in a bowl game, and pre-season top 5 is a lock; maybe if one or two of our D stars expected to turn pro gets sentimental and announces he's staying might bump us up to the top. And guess what? Pre-season won't matter if we don't beat Bama, just like every year...

it was about us not crossing midfield
Weren't the Bama fans supposed to cheer when this happened? We did it in the first drive. I guess they got that in early.

#1 next preseason
If they win out no way this isn't Bama no matter who they lose. Top 5 more likely.
