What is Galatoires Dress Code on a thursday at lunch? Would I be OK with khakis and button down long sleeve?

You need a coat at Galatoire's no matter if its lunch or dinner. They will provide one to you.

you don't need a jacket for lunch anymore. But you would be wise to wear one anyway

pretty recently, last few years or so. It's just 'business casual' at lunch now with jackets required starting at 5

Save on Sundays. Jackets required all day on Sundays.

I have suits i could wear. But all my sport coats are too big now. Would you recommend wearing the suit or just khakis, button up shirt and maybe a tie?

Far from a style expert, but you are going to lunch not a sales conference in Columbus. Go with the suit, people will think you are playing hooky from work, which is the best way to go there.
