Each bring something to the table, including a lot of Emmys.

Well first off, Homeland is on Showtime and it is good.

Newsroom is a pretentious bag of shite.

The Newsroom hasn't won any Emmys.

I'm going with Newsroom being more overrated... because I have no interest in watching it whatsoever.

I'd say they're both rated appropriately. Homeland gets a lot of hype because it's awesome. The Newsroom gets average coverage because it's well done, but ultimately a pretty flawed show.

Homeland is awesome.
The Newsroom blows.

This is without hype.

Speaking of Homeland, how can one catch up on watching it? Netflix?

its not even the left leaning stuff that makes Newsroom suck. The fact that it's just a boring show with shitty characters makes it suck

Other than the horrible love triangle ripped directly from the office. The characters in The Newsroom are not bad at all. If you can check your political allegiance at the door, this is not a bad show at all.

I'm not a person who lets political stuff get in the way of entertainment. I watched every episode of that show, it just wasn't very good.

I love Newsroom. The dialogue is way too fast to be realistic, but I don't think its left at all. I think its right in the middle. It just focused on how psycho the tea party was. But then again, I'm a true republican and not one of these bible beating republicans of modern era, making me actually a libertarian.

Homeland is badass and way better than Newsroom and I just said I loved Newsroom.
