O-line: B-
they didn't pass protect too well, but they brought it in the second half to open up the running game.

WR's: D
they didn't step up like they did against South Carolina. Not quite as bad as the Florida game, but these guys have got to make some catches. I know that Mett throws the ball all the hell over the place, but when he does get it near them, they need to catch it.

RB's: A
Hill gets the the corner as well as anyone I have seen in years.

QB: F
Mett seems to get worse each week. Not sure if it is a confidence thing, but he is not accurate, he consistently finds the covered receiver (even when the defense is playing man to man with 9 in the box), he can't move in the pocket, and he can't run at all.

D-line: B-
These guys were undiscipined in the first half. They committed way to many penalties, and the ends consistently bit inside allowing Johnney Football to run to the outside for a first down. But they did contain the outside in the second half.

LB's: C
Not the worst night ever, but penalties and poor tackling were a problem all day.

DB's: C+
Terrible first half, playing way too far off the defenders and failing to make tackles. Second half was much better.

Special Teams: C

Mingo had 3 offsides called against him... 3.

So our average grade for the entire defense is a C+? Ok.

YEAH - Defense gets a C.

Even if you thought the defense played A football in the second half, the first half would be a D at best.

But with that many 3rd down penalties, keeping drives alive, no way these guys get anything better than a C.

Damn, you're harsher than I am. Linebackers played great. Minter was a beast, his play alone gets the whole group at least a B+

I agree, but you never mentioned the huge turnovers to flip the momentum or the stand after the long kickoff return where they got NOTHING out of it. From the middle of the 2nd till the end of the game was an A+ IMO

As soon as Chavis realized everyone on our defense was as fast as Manziel and stopped respecting him as running threat, they couldn't do jackshit against us

You serious? There was maybe 1 drop all game. They were consistently open. They also did a good job blocking on the outside.

What penalties and what missed tackles?

WR's showed that they could play A football against South Carolina.

I know that Mett's is throwing the ball in the stands (on good plays). But when he finally hits a guy, the guy has GOT to catch it.

But yes, the WR's grade does suffer from Mett's play, no doubt.

I think the defense made some effective adjustments before the half. Wish the offense could morph as easily.

No team with 13 penalties is going to grade out well.

The turnovers were huge, and LSU deserves lots of credit for capitalizing on those.

21 points on turnovers. That was the game.

A+ on turnover ratio. If LSU had won the turnover battle against Florida, as they did against A&M, they would have won the game.

What passes were dropped?

This. Receivers get a B- at the very worst. I would grade them higher. Landry had one drop, granted not an easy catch, but he has the ability to come down with it. However though he made up for it on the Ford TD, he perfectly blocked his guy for at least 5 seconds, which is hard as shite to do.

LB's also played pretty damn good. Minter had another all american performance and Barrow is outplaying Ryan Baker from last year.

Neither dropped a ball and Boone had a sick catch. Odell would have had a big gain if not for the defender grabbing his arm way.
