Fleur de diable and i are here. Davis just dove for a loose ball, and fell over some chairs. Place went silent. Then he got up to applause.
Practice started with a scrimmage. Rookies looking real good. Will post more soon.

Checking in. 40 minutes in and the lack of experience/chemistry shows. Just seems like a general lack of organization with forced passes and some silly turnovers.
All in all though, the team shows promise and the talent is here. Just will take time.
Surprise of the day: EG isn't practicing.

What's the crowd look like?
Posted on 10/20/12 at 11:16 am to Hank Marducas
About 3/4 of the lower seating on one side is full. More than I expected

It just ended. Lower bowl little less than half full

No free shite. Contest for a signed basketball. And you can meet the rookies if u buy at least a 12 game package

Monty on Anthony Davis' spill into the stands: "He's got to learn the protocol of open scrimmage. Engage with the fans; don't hurt one."

So, practice was short. Lasted about an hour and twenty minutes.
Davis knocked down a few mid range jumpers and had some nice pick and roll and in bound play dunks. I told y'all already about the dive for a loose ball play. Chill Davis, it's "practice". Gotta love the hustle though.
Rivers got in the lane and made some nice passes. Love his floater. Great shot for a guard to have mastered. He will take that shot from deep. Looks kinda weird from too far out, but it can be effective.
Roger mason knocked down three 3s in the scrimmage.
Lopez gets in the right spots on offense. He was very effective picking and rolling and finishing with hooks around the rim. He impressed me. And he is just big. Nice to have a true center with some size on the hornets.
Smiht didn't practice. Gordon didn't practice, but he was there and joking with teammates on the bench.
Greivis was great. The practice started with some offense only drills and then went to scrimmage. He finished the drills with a dunk and a pump the crowd up gesture to the fans. He made several great passes to Davis and Lopez for buckets during the scrimmage. He was a great leader. High fived all his teammates after the scrimmage win. Afterwards, he gestured for all his teammates to follow him to the stands. He seemed genuinely excited to interact with the fans. I'm a fan of him. Rootin for him this season.
Monty gave a speech at the end saying how much he and the team loved the city and the fans. Thanked us for comin out
Smith introduced the lineups when the scrimmage started. It was short, but we had a good time

No pics. Sorry. I don't have a nice phone, and I suck at computers

i like him more and more. he seems truly appreciative of the fact that he's in the NBA, which is humbling.
